For this project, I created a digital montage in Photoshop that integrates a stylized self-portrait within a cinematic Star Wars composition. I began by constructing a balanced layout through strategic photo layering, using visual hierarchy and directional flow to guide the viewer’s eye toward the focal point—myself with a lightsaber. After refining the composition, I transitioned to a digital drawing process, starting with rough and final pencil sketches to define primary forms and structure. The inking phase focused on contrast and value definition through varied line weights and negative space to emphasize depth and shape. I then introduced flat color blocking to establish the scene’s foundation before developing dimension through highlights, shadows, and color harmonies. Finally, I enhanced the design with atmospheric effects such as light glows, motion lines, and environmental mist to create energy and cohesion across the scene. This piece, titled “Mark in Star Wars,” received the 2025 St. Petersburg College Fine Arts & Media Award for Best Concept Art.
